Jay Beyond Jewelry: Back to School

The man behind the brand – Jay Landa – is far more than jewelry. He's a stylist. He's a world traveler. He's passionate about equality and human rights. He's a lover of animals (especially his Frenchie Moe). He loves a good vodka martini. And that only scratches the surface.

In this week's edition of Jay Beyond Jewelry, we're taking it back to school.

Q. If you could teach a class/course, what would it be and why?

A. I would definitely teach communication or speech class. I think it's incredibly important that everyone knows how to communicate effectively.

Q. You're starting your first day of college - what do you wear?

A. Hahaha – I think I would definitely keep it casual as to not intimidate anyone.  Besides, I'm there to learn not have a fashion show.

Q. When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A. Funny, I wanted to be a news anchor. Loved the aspect of being on TV and reading the news off a teleprompter. Sounds super cool. I'm sure it takes a certain skill, but I would have been GREAT at it!!

Q. What is one of your favorite memories from college or a memory that stands out?

A. I really enjoyed the freedom and to meet different types of personalities. I  remember taking an African American studies class with the intention of dropping it and it became one of my favorite classes. It really changed my perspective in life.

Q. What was your go-to meal in college?

A. Rice-o-roni
