Turquoise Jewelry All Year Long: Rodeo or Not!

With the Rodeo Houston concert lineup released, it's the time of year Houstonians start to seriously think about turquoise jewelry. But at J. Landa jewelry, we have turquoise on our mind all year long.

We hear it a lot in our store – "Oh that's the Rodeo case," as customers point to the Native American turquoise jewelry case in the store. And sure, big turquoise earrings are a great way to dress up your jeans and cowboy boots for Rodeo, but we want you to see how cool turquoise can be any time of the year.

Turquoise is one of those colors that just seems to go with everything. It's a bright color, but we see it as a neutral. Whether the color coordinates with your blue jeans or it's a contrast against your leopard print (one of our favorite wears to wear it!), it just works

We especially love Native American turquoise jewelry, and there will always be a special place in our hearts for the squash blossom necklace. We wrote about our love affair for the statement turquoise necklace last year, which you can read here, but there's so much more to love.

We work frequently with Native American jewelry designer Chimney Butte, and he creates beautiful pieces for us. We just received a new collection from him, which included two stunning squash blossoms (see below!). Another designer we work with frequently is Federico from Oaxaca, Mexico. His work is big and beautiful. We especially love his inlaid turquoise bracelets and cuffs

Native American jewelry is a certain look, and if it's not for you, there's so many other chic and casual ways to incorporate turquoise into your wardrobe. Our Landa Stack collection is a great way to add a turquoise ring to a classic, sophisticated style. These turquoise rings are modern and wrapped with diamonds, so you get a touch of luxe, too! We also have dainty turquoise rings (with turquoise earrings to match) for a subtle, sweet everyday look.

One of our favorite designers we carry – Chan Luu – has always incorporated turquoise stones in her collections, and we recently launched an exclusive turquoise necklace for Valentine's Day. The heart-shaped turquoise pendant is hanging from a delicate gold chain embellished with a tiny evil eye charm. We're in love! Another exclusive piece from Chan Luu that's perfect for Rodeo season is this turquoise bracelet with a gold cow skull – there's only two left!

If you couldn't tell by now, we really do love turquoise jewelry. If you're afraid of the pop of color, try adding a turquoise pendant to your necklace layers first – it's a great place to start. But we don't think it will take long for you to follow in our footsteps.
